Recycling Policy

At Brewsters we are committed to recycling.

We support the Government's directive that waste being taken to Landfill should be reduced significantly and the target set for reduction by 2010. We are constantly exploring new ways of recycling the materials that pass through our facility.

This means that wood collected is broken down and used in garden landscaping. Hardcore is crushed and used in road building schemes. Paper and glass are taken to the treatment plants for regeneration.

This is now possible on all waste received at our site using some very up to date sorting machine which extracts the individual components of the waste and segregates them in readiness for recycling. By using this system we have dramatically reduced the amount of waste that we take to landfill.

Brewster’s continue to explore new methods of sorting waste in order to improve our recycling capabilities. On larger projects where we are working we have been able to verify the waste collected and have achieved up to 70% recycled waste.

Collection and provision of data on waste types and recycling distribution is of vital importance to our environmentally conscious customers and with this mind we have created a bespoke database system which accurately records waste received from individual customers on a job by job basis.

Using this system we can record the types of wastes received and the weight. Using this system we are able to report to our customer and give specific data relating to there site as well as an overall percentage of recycled waste.
